Private Boat Ramp

A small private ramp lets you launch boats on single-axle trailers right from the property. For larger boats, Grassy Key Marina next door has a full launch ramp.

Most of what you’ll want to do at Dolphin Cove is right on the property. You can fish from the dock, take the kayaks or paddleboards out, launch your own boat, swim in the pool or spend the day on the beach.

The outdoor pool has a heating and cooling system, so you can swim comfortably any time of year. Let us know ahead of time if you’d like the water warmer in winter or cooler in summer. There’s also a built-in spa next to the pool.
For safety, the pool has an ASTM F1346 compliant safety cover (net), which meets the requirements of Florida’s Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act (Chapter 515, Florida Statutes). The approved cover takes the place of a physical barrier and prevents unsupervised access, as state law requires. We’ll show you how to put the net on and take it off when you arrive.

The whole backyard is a private beach with palms, soft sand and open views of the Gulf, and it connects to the dock. You can fish or relax by the water, watch the dolphins at the research center next door, and catch the sunset.

The private dock has a fish cleaning station, freshwater washdown hose, ladder, electrical outlets, and a dock box with extra lines, fenders and safety gear.

Guests can use 2 adult kayaks, 2 child kayaks and 2 paddleboards at no charge, and the Gulf here is calm and shallow. U.S. Coast Guard approved Type II life jackets are provided in adult, youth, child and infant sizes, each with an emergency whistle. Paddling over toward the Dolphin Research Center next door is a good way to see the dolphins.

An underwater light on the dock attracts fish and other marine life after dark. It’s good for night fishing or just watching.

There are two outdoor showers for rinsing off salt and sand, one beside the pool and one near the porch.

A portable accessibility ramp is kept inside the elevator. It sets up quickly at the entry and makes it easier to get from the carport into the elevator with a wheelchair or walker.

A bait freezer is downstairs next to the kayak rack for frozen bait, chum or your catch. Fish and bait aren’t allowed inside the house and must go in this freezer. Please bag fish before putting them in.
